From Hobby to Passion: How I Fell in Love with 3D Printing
In 2020, my journey into the world of 3D printing began with a spark of curiosity and a little nudge from a friend. At the time, I had no idea that this fascinating technology would transform from a simple hobby into a driving passion and the foundation for my creative side hustle.
I still remember the excitement of unpacking my first 3D printer. It felt like stepping into a new dimension of possibilities. My first project was a humble one—a soap dish. It was a small, practical object, but for me, it was monumental. Watching it come to life layer by layer was nothing short of magical. Even better, it actually worked! That tiny accomplishment fueled my enthusiasm to explore further.
Turning a Passion into Purpose
As my skills grew, so did my ambitions. In 2022, I decided to take a leap and start selling my 3D-printed creations. What began as an experiment quickly turned into a rewarding business. Today, I focus on printing high-quality, intricate designs created by talented artists in the 3D printing community, as well as designs I’ve created myself. From articulating dragons and animals to seasonal décor and practical household items, I enjoy bringing a variety of unique pieces to life.
The best part of this journey has been connecting with people through my prints. I take pride in selecting or designing models, optimizing print settings, and delivering beautifully crafted pieces that bring joy to my customers.
Why 3D Printing Inspires Me
What makes 3D printing so exciting is its ability to turn imagination into reality. Each print is like a mini adventure—from choosing or creating the design to fine-tuning the printer settings and waiting to see how it turns out. It’s not always perfect, but that’s part of the thrill. Every success and failure teaches me something new.
